The Classic Georgian
The Georgian Age began with the accession of George I in 1714, ended with George IV in 1830 and had a long lasting influence on furniture design. Characteristics of Georgian simplicity, this table eschews the elaborate carving an intricacies of earlier period for bold, clean, straight lines. Finely tapered eight-sided, jewel-contoured legs balance the austere cabinet of the Classic Georgian. It employs Chippendale influence in its consistent use of Honduran mahogany and is an understated classic, imbued with unequal craftsmanship.
